CLASSROOM REGULATIONS & SCHOOL POLICIES:

Dress Code:

Ballet Classes – Girls: Academic uniform colors are chosen for each level. Please check color chart at the studio before purchasing leotards and belts. UNIFORM COLORS ARE MANDATORY. All ballet students wear pink tights and pink ballet slippers. Hair – should be worn in a bun, at the crown of the head, fastened securely. Pony tails are allowed up to Ballet II level only. Boys: White T-shirt with black tights or black jazz pants. White ballet slippers

Jazz/Hip-Hop Classes – Girls and Boys: Ginger's Dance T-shirt, black jazz pants and black jazz shoes or sneakers.

Tap Classes – Girls and Boys: Ginger's Dance T-shirt, black jazz pants and black tap shoes.

Gymnastics Classes – Girls: Bike unitard and white gymnastics shoes. Academic uniform colors have been chosen for each level. Please check color chart before purchasing bike unitard. Boys: Gingers Dance T-shirt and black bike shorts, white gymnastics shoes.

Irish Step Classes – Girls and Boys: Ginger's Dance T-shirt with black bike shorts. Girls may also wear black leotard with black tights with dance skirt. Ghillies for all students. Hard shoe and ghillies for advanced students.

Bellydancing – Students should have a practice skirt and belt, veil and zils.

NO JEWELRY OR GUM. Both are dangerous and disrupting in the classroom.

 

Proper Etiquette – We expect our students to be polite to one another as well as to the instructors. Rude behavior will not be tolerated in our school.

 

Parents Observation Days – Parents are encouraged to observe during the first week of November, February and May. These observation days provide you with the opportunity to see your child's progress. We ask that parents observe during these days only, for this is less distracting for our students.

 

Scholarship – A scholarship of one free year of classes at Ginger's Academy is given annually. Scholarship winners are chosen by their good attendance, improvements and expressed desire to learn. Scholarship essay should state why you should be chosen and what dance means to you. The following requirements must be met: the applicant must be at least 11 years old, have attended our classes during the previous year, have an outstanding attendance record, a continuous dedication to dance and a willingness to learn. Please send scholarship entries to Ginger's Academy, 100 Saratoga Village Blvd., Suite 25 , Malta , NY 12020. Scholarship essays must be received by July 31 st in order to be eligible.

 

 

SAFETY GUIDELINES:

 

No child is to be left unattended in the waiting room for any length of time. The staff at Ginger's Dance to Fit is not liable for children left before or after their scheduled classes.

Please escort your child into and out of the studio for their scheduled class. The parking lot is dangerous and we cannot be responsible for children once they leave the building.

To provide safety for all and avoid distraction for the students in class, ABSOLUTLY NO ONE will be allowed in the hallway.

Students are expected to remain in the waiting room until their instructor calls for them.

Parents may wait for students in the waiting room until the instructor escorts them there after the completion of their class.

All customers must park in the Commons parking lot, not directly in front of the studio. Absolutely no parking, waiting or standing is permitted in this area. This will ensure student safety entering and exiting the building. Vehicles will be towed at owner's expense.

Please do not drive students up to the door for drop off. If you choose to allow your child to walk to and from your car for drop off and pick up please meet them at the curb on the other side of the grass. We cannot allow vehicle traffic immediately in front of our door.
